CHIKKODI: A woman died and two others were seriously injured after a boiler blast at a factory located at the Athani minor industrial area on Tuesday on the outskirts of Chikkatti village.
The deceased was identified as Sunanda Siddappa Teli (36), hailing from Satti village. The injured were shifted to hospitals in Athani and in Miraj, Maharashtra
The blast occurred at Priya Exports, leaving the walls badly damaged. A tense atmosphere prevailed for some time at the industrial area. The Fire and Emergency Services personnel put out the fire and a case has been registered at the Athani police station.
