HASSAN: A woman died and three others were injured when their car was hit from behind while overtaking another car in front of the agricultural college at Karekere village of Hassan taluk. The deceased has been identified as Shanthamma (45).
The accident happened when an Alto car collided with a WagonR car while trying to overtake it. The impact was so severe that both cars were mangled.
Shanthamma, a resident of K Hosakoppalu Layout in Hassan city, died on the spot. Her husband Nagesh and their six-year-old child Yukti, and Gauramma were injured in the accident and are being treated at the district hospital.
The Shanthigrama police visited the spot and have taken up further investigation after registering a case.
