BAGALKOT: A 25-year-old woman died a few hours after undergoing sterilisation surgery at a hospital in Jamakhandi in the district on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Neelavva Hugar, a resident of Tungala village in Jamkhandi taluk. Neelavva’s family alleges that she died due to the negligence of the doctor.
On Friday, she was admitted to the hospital for family planning surgery as she already had three children. She decided to undergo surgery after her third child, which she delivered two months ago. The woman became unwell just a few hours after an injection was administered. Early on Sunday, she died as she did not respond to treatment.
Neelavva’s family has demanded a proper investigation on the incident and to take up action against the doctor concerned for his alleged negligence.
