UDUPI: An octogenarian woman died soon after casting her postal ballot at home at Sastana Pandeshwara Chadagara Agrahara in Brahmavar taluk on Tuesday. The deceased is P Yashoda Narayan Upadhya (83).
Yashoda, wife of late Narayana Upadhya, a village accountant, was eligible for postal ballot given that she is a senior citizen. On the day she was to cast her vote, she complained of chest pain, but thought she would visit a hospital later.
After casting her ballot, Yashoda got admitted to a hospital at Koteshwar, but did not respond to treatment and died around 9 pm. She is survived by her son and two daughters.
