Woman Congress leader writes to PM Modi after attack on husband by Youth Cong leader

CHIKKAMAGALUR: A woman Congress leader and state secretary of the women’s wing, has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking justice in a case against former president of the Chikkamagalur Youth Congress, Rahil Sharif.

On February 28, Rahil allegedly attacked Chethana and her husband with a machete at her residence in Chikkamagalur’s Housing Board area. Chethana’s husband was injured and hospitalised, and a case was registered at the women’s police station.

Chethana N S alleges the investigation is not being conducted properly and Rahil is receiving preferential treatment due to his influential connections. She claims that Rahil was admitted to the district hospital, where he’s being treated well and is even communicating with outsiders.

Chethana has written to the PM, citing concerns about the local police investigation and requesting a central probe. She alleges Rahil has obscene photos and videos of Hindu women on his mobile and is blackmailing them. Many women are afraid to come forward due to fear.

The incident has caused embarrassment for the Congress party, with a senior leader accusing a former Youth Congress president of serious crimes. Rahil Sharif has been expelled from the Congress party. The case has sparked controversy, with allegations of political pressure and preferential treatment.
