The woman conductor threatened the students that only five of them will be allowed on that bus.

HAVERI: With buses running full ever since the implementation of the Shakti free travel scheme for women, school and college students are finding it tough to travel every day. Several instances of protests have already been reported from different parts of the state.

At Halageri village, students of a SC/ST hostel have alleged that a woman conductor (KA 42 F 0725) of the NWKRTC allows only five students and asks the others to board another bus. In a video captured on a mobile phone, some of the students can be seen questioning the woman conductor what they are supposed to do as other conductors too allow only five students at a time.

The woman conductor can be heard saying, “If more student board the bus, I will have to force them to get off. There are 150 students in the hostel and is this the only bus you get? Board some other bus”, she can be heard saying.

Fed up of the conductor’s attitude, some of the hostel students lodged a complaint with the KSRTC traffic controller along with the video and have demanded action against the woman conductor.
