Woman caught smoking in IndiGo flight lavatory, arrested in Bengaluru

BENGALURU: A woman who was smoking in the lavatory of an IndiGo flight has been arrested by the Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) police.

Priyanka Chakraborty (24), hailing from Sealdah district in West Bengal, had boarded IndiGo flight 6E716 on March 5 at Kolkata which took off around 9.30 pm. Half an hour before it was to land in Bengaluru, she was caught smoking in the lavatory. The flight crew had to put water in the dustbin to extinguish the cigarette stub.

As soon as the flight landed in Bengaluru, Priyanka was handed over to the security personnel. She was arrested posing a danger to the lives and personal safety of other passengers.
