BAGALKOT: A middle-aged woman, who was distressed due to marital discord, attempted to end her life by jumping into the Malaprabha river. She was, however, rescued by some local youths.
Annapurna Nagaral (52), a resident of Kantipet in Guledagudda town, hails from Ramathal in Hungund taluk. Depressed over domestic issues, she attempted suicide by jumping into the river. Some locals who saw her running and jumping into the river, quickly got into the water and rescued her.
Annapurna was later admitted to hospital where she is recuperating.
