MANDYA: A woman created a ruckus at the Srirangapatna bus station after being questioned by a bus conductor and even assaulted him after he questioned her why she had not got off at her destination.

The woman had bought a ticket to travel from Mysuru to Tumakuru under the Shakti scheme and got off the bus at Srirangapatna. When the conductor questioned her about it, she got into an altercation with the conductor.

When the conductor took her to the traffic controller, she assaulted the conductor, grabbing his collar and pulling him, causing a commotion at the bus station.

When bystanders started recording the altercation on video, the woman fled the scene. The incident has sparked calls for action against those misusing the Shakti scheme, a government initiative aimed at providing free bus travel for women.
