TUMAKURU: A woman, who had created a scene at Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s programme at Tumakuru on Monday, was awarded a 20×30 site just a day later under the Ashraya housing scheme. On Tuesday, district minister G Parameshwara called her over to Tumakuru and handed over the Ashraya committee meeting proceedings to her and also assured her of providing a house soon.

Rabiya had called out to the CM when he was leaving the stage.

Rabiya, wife of Aslam Pasha and a resident of Sira, had waited to petition CM Siddaramaiah during the event on Monday. Just as the CM was leaving the stage, Rabiya shouted saying, “Siddaramaiah saab”, but the police personnel present there shut her mouth. The CM, who had heard Rabiya shout out his name, had directed Deputy Commissioner Subha Kalyan to look into Rabiya’s grievance.

Accordingly, the district authorities got in touch with Rabiya and, considering the economic condition of the family, the Ashraya committee of Sira allotted her a 20×30 ft site on a temporary basis. The town council also issued an order to the effect in just a day.
