BENGALURU: An FIR has been registered against a couple in BTM Layout for allegedly harassing their daughter-in-law and forcing her to have an illicit relationship with the father-in-law.
The complaint was filed by the victim Shazia and her husband Yaseen Pasha at the Suddaguntepalya police station.
According to the complaint, Yaseen and Shazia got married in Mysuru despite opposition from Yaseen’s parents, who had initially agreed to the marriage, but later refused. After the marriage, Yaseen’s mother Humera and stepfather Akbar allegedly started harassing Shazia, forcing her to have an illicit relationship with her father-in-law.
When Shazia refused, they allegedly threatened her with dire consequences, including forcing her to commit suicide. Based on Shazia’s complaint, an FIR has been registered under sections 351(2), 352, and 2(5) of the BNS.
