BENGALURU: A young woman has approached the police and the women’s helpline alleging that a BMTC bus driver-cum-conductor had tricked her into marrying him after claiming to be single, but had now rejected her.
The woman regularly travelled on the bus operated by Manjunath between MS Palya and Yelahanka. Soon, the two got to know each other and Manjunath, who is attached to the BMTC depot at MS Palya, took her phone number. As their relationship grew, Manjunath promised to marry her, but did not disclose that he was already married and had two children, as per the woman’s complaint.
Manjunath took the woman on a trip and allegedly married her at a temple despite objection from her family. But three months later, the victim came to know that he was already married and has two children and that the famly was living in Nelamangala.
The woman claimed that by the time she came to know about Manjunath’s previous marriage, she was already pregnant with his child. However, Manjunath has apparently rejected her now. She has now demanded that she wants her husband back as he is the father of her child.
