BELAGAVI: A BJP leader and his son have been booked after a newlywed woman complained that he had sexually assaulted and mentally harassed her by forcing her to lodge a complaint against her husband and father-in-law.
The woman claimed that BJP leader Prithvi Singh and his son Jashveer Singh had threatened her to lodge a complaint against her husband and father-in-law. She also claimed that the duo had poisoned her when she was admitted to the BRIMS hospital recently. She had then claimed that she was upset with the alleged harassment from her husband and father-in-law and had consumed poison.
A month after she was discharged from hospital, the woman has done a U-turn and accused the BJP leader. She has now accused the BJP leader and his son of sexually assaulting her. On Thursday night, she approached the police commissioner’s office and was directed to register her complaint at the Khade Bazaar police station. The police have registered a case and taken up further investigation.
