CHIKKABALLAPUR: A woman abandoned a male child, aged about 1.5 years, at the woman and child hospital at Chintamani town on Wednesday afternoon. The act was caught on CCTV camera.
The woman entered the hospital carrying the child around 2 pm, placed it in a cradle and left the scene hastily. When the infant woke and started crying, the hospital staff were alerted and started looking for the mother.
When they could not trace the parents, they checked the CCTV footage and realised that the woman had abandoned the child.
Hospital administrative officer Dr Santosh has lodged a complaint with the Chintamani police to trace the parents of the child. So far, the parents of the child have not been located.
