CHITRADURGA: A woman and her two children died after they drowned in a river at Nayakanahatti village in Challakere taluk on Friday. The deceased was identified as Durugamma (25), Ajjayya (6) Sevanthi (4).
The family of four had gone to attend the Bosedevarahatti fair where they planned to perform Ganga puja. Durugamma’s husband Mahanthesh took them to Hirehalli in Challakere taluk after attending the fair, where they stayed overnight at a relative’s house.
On Friday morning, Durgamma and the children were found dead in the river and their bodies were fished out. The incident occurred in Nayakanahatti police limits and Mahanthesh has been detained for questioning as police suspect that he may have intentionally to pushed them into river.
