TUMAKURU: With the summer approaching, villages in the dry Pavagada taluk are already facing a scarcity of drinking water. People have already started travelling long distances to fetch water.
At Nagenahalli under Ryapa gram panchayat, residents have not been getting drinking water supply for the last one week and the lone borewell in the village has not been fixed as the gram panchayat has not released funds.
Residents of the village hop on to tractors and fectch water in pots from neighbouring villages. They also vented their anger at officials and demanded that proper arrangements for drinking water supply be made on a war-footing before the situation turns any worse.
