BENGALURU: Cyclone Asani has brought huge relief to the state which was reeling under the summer heat with the last three days remaining cool and a nip in the air. Bengaluru and other parts of the state will receive rain on Friday too.

The cyclone may also have an effect on the onset of monsoon this year. The monsoon season usually starts in early June, but the weatherman says it may start around May-end. The Met department says the weather system was supposed to form in the Bay of Bengal around May 22, but it may happen as early as May 15.

The formation of a cyclonic storm just ahead of the monsoon season will bear effect on a good monsoon. Rainfall may even be quite heavy this year, the weatherman says.
