BALLARI: A wildfire broke out at the Daroji hills in Sandur taluk on Sunday night, causing widespread damage. The Daroji bear sanctuary is home to more than 400 bears and other animal and bird species.
The fire spread quickly, leading to concerns over deaths of wild animals. The Forest Department staff battled the wildfire for several hours before they could contain it. Luckily, there was no loss of animal life.
