CHIKKODI: Controversial actor Chetan ‘Ahimsa’ has stoked a row yet again by opposing the release of funds by the Siddaramaiah-led Congress government in the state for the development of Anjanadri, considered the birthplace of Lord Hanuman.

Speaking to media persons here, Chetan insisted that the funds could be used for the development of Ramanagara nomadic community of Chikkodi. Calling Chief Minister Siddaramaiah as ‘Somari Siddu’ (lazy), he said the 82 nomadic families continue to live in pitiable conditions.

“Not one rupee has been allocated for the nomadic communities in the state budget, but the government is giving Rs 100 crore for the development of Anjanadri. This shows the wrong priorities of the government”, Chetan said. He also demanded that the government should release the caste census report and alleged that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah was not working for the welfare of the AHINDA (minorities, backward classes and Dalits) grouping.

Chetan also batted for wealth redistribution and imposition of inheritance tax saying that the wealth amassed by the rich and politicians should be distributed among the poor.
