BENGALURU: The world-famous Bengaluru Karaga festival is round the corner, but the the white-topping work on the road near the Dharmaraya temple at Thigalarpet, taken up by the BBMP, remains incomplete. A preparatory meeting was held regarding organising the Karaga festival and the main issue was the pending white-topping work on the road.
Karaga committee chairman Satish requested the BBMP that the white-topping work be completed in time for the festival. He expressed concern that the festival might be affected if the road work is not completed on time.
“It’s not possible to complete it in one or two days; it needs more time. There are indications that the work will require more time. We have seen last time what camphor can do. Now everyone says that it was my fault that the white-topping work is not completed. If any untoward incident occurs, then who will take the responsibility?”
The local MLA, Uday Garudachar, has assured that the road work will be completed by April 5. He stated that they will make temporary arrangements to ensure that the festival is not disrupted.
The Bengaluru Karaga festival is a historic event that attracts millions. The devotees hope that the road work will not hinder the festival and they are eager to celebrate it without any disruptions.
