BENGALURU: Karnataka Chief Minister K Siddaramaiah on Friday paid a surprise visit to Morarji Desai Residential School in Chamarajpet, Bengaluru and emphasised that more necessary infrastructure will be provided to residential schools of the state.
He also interacted with the students of the Morarji Desai Residential School in Chamarajpet, Bengaluru after the SCSP/TSP State Development Council Meeting.
Adrressing media persons, the Chief Minister Siddaramaiah emphasised that more necessary infrastructure will be provided to residential schools of the state. He also stated that residential schools are better in quality as compared to other schools.
“There are 833 residential schools in the state and well-equipped buildings for all the residential schools are being constructed in a phased manner. We are converting all Ashram schools into residential schools,” said Siddaramaiah.
He also mentioned that apart from providing free meals and accommodation to the students in these schools, they are also offering coaching in English, Science, and Mathematics.
The Chief Minister also informed that he had food and sambar with the students.
A government school in Chamarajpet was taken over and converted into Morarji Desai Residential School. Currently, there are 218 students admissioned here.
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar have called a meeting with party office bearers and party workers on July 6, said an official release on Thursday.
According to an official release, “Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and KPCC President and Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar will meet party workers and office bearers at the party office on Queens Road between 3 pm and 5 pm on July 6 to address their issues.”
“The party workers and office bearers may call the given mobile number to register for the meet. The meeting will be held on a first come first serve basis,” it said.The meeting is strictly for party workers and office bearers and it won’t be open to anyone else, including party MLAs, said the press release from the office of Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar.
