CHITRADURGA: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy CM D K Shivakumar on Monday attended the wedding ceremony of Challakere Congress MLA T Raghumurthy’s daughter and blessed the couple
The CM and Deputy CM arrived at the venue separately by road and wished the couple, Dr Suchitra and Dr Varun. The wedding was organised at the HPPC School Grounds and the venue was themed like the Tirupati temple. The Challakere police had made strict security arrangements for the visit.
Before visiting the wedding venue, CM Siddaramaiah received a petition from Dalit Sangharsh Samiti (DSS) leaders and representatives of the Madiga Dandora community on internal reservation. Speaking to media persons, he said adequate steps have been taken to deal with the heavy rain in Bengaluru and added that there has been no damage to standing crops.
On BJP’s C P Yogeshwar meeting Congress leaders ahead of the Channapatna bypoll, Siddaramaiah said it would not be right to speculate. “Let the JD(S) announce their candidate. We will pick our candidate today or tomorrow and we will win all the three bypolls”, he asserted.
“BJP MLA Basanagouda Patil Yatnal has said that the party is spending Rs 1,000 to bring down our government. Is that not black money? Where are they getting it from? The BJP leaders are hoarding black money”, he said.
