BENGALURU: Home Minister G Parameshwara, speaking about the handover of the Dharmasthala mass burials case to SIT, said that a person has filed a complaint and recorded a statement under Section 164 before the judge.

The court has ordered a local investigation and directed the authorities to submit a detailed report. Despite some people making personal attacks on the Chief Minister and Home Minister, the government has instructed the authorities to conduct a fair investigation, he said.

“The SIT has been formed under the leadership of IPS officer Pronab Mohanty to investigate the matter. The SIT has been instructed to submit its report to the government as soon as possible without any time limit. The investigation will look into the complaint and the discovery of skulls, bones, and other remains. In this case, we haven’t yielded to anyone’s pressure”, Parameshwara said.

“The government has assured that it will not protect anyone and that justice will be served. The SIT’s investigation will determine the facts and the government will take action accordingly”, he said. Regarding the BJP’s allegations of mixing religion and politics, the Home Minister said that the truth will come out after the investigation report is submitted. “Then they will get to know what politics is, let’s discuss it later”, he remarked.
