MANGALURU: Janata Dal (Secular) leader and former Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy on Sunday said his party does not need ‘big leaders’ like Jagadish Shettar. Speaking to reporters here, he said, “We don’t need big leaders like Jagadish Shettar, we will manage with small leaders”.
Commenting on Shettar resigning as MLA and from the BJP, Kumaraswamy said, “Jagdish Shettar is not in contact with me. We don’t need such big leaders, we will take small ones. We are a small party and we do not expect big leaders to join us”.
“Jagdish Shettar’s resignation is an internal issue of the BJP. He is an experienced politician who has worked since the Jan Sangh era. If people like him have made such a decision today, it is commentary on the current state of affairs in the BJP”, he added.
