BALLARI: Over 10 farmers in Ballari’s Bommanahala village have received notices from the Waqf Board, sparking anxiety about the ownership of their ancestral lands.

The farmers, including Hemaraddi and Siddugouda, have been cultivating these lands for generations. Despite visiting the Waqf department in Bengaluru, they haven’t received any clarification.

The Waqf Board issued notices in August 2023, claiming 13 acres of land in Bommanahala village. Farmers are worried, questioning how their inherited property can be disputed. Now farmers are visiting different departments to save their property. They’re urging the authorities to resolve the issue at the earliest.
