VIJAYAPURA: Wall paintings of Dr B R Ambedkar, the architect of the Constitution, and former Mysuru ruler Tipu Sultan were smeared with mud by unidentified persons at a government school at Chabanur village in Talikote taluk.
The words ‘Jai Sri Ram’ were also found scribbled under the wall painting of Tipu Sultan. However, the paintings of other great leaders were left untouched. Villagers say the act was committed to disturb communal harmony.
The villagers, along with the police, cleaned up the paintings later. The Talikote police visited the spot and have registered a case. They are now on the lookout for the miscreants.
