KALABURAGI: Director General and Inspector General of Police (DG&IGP) Praveen Sood has said the police department is ready to conduct a re-examination for filling up 545 posts of police sub-inspector (PSI) posts, but is waiting for the court order. The court has restrained the recruitment process until the case is completely settled.

A notification was issued for the recruitment of 545 PSI posts in 2020 and the physical and written tests were conducted in 2021. The shortlist of candidates was published in January 2022, but the government had cancelled the recruitment due to irregularities revealed in the examination.

We are ready to conduct re-examine for 545 PSIs but are waiting for a court order which has restrained us from doing so till disposal of the case. Will abide by the court decision”.

In another tweet, he said, “402 will be done immediately after 545 is done.”

Responding to the DG&IGP’s tweet, some of the aspirants noted that will take years to complete the investigation into the PSI scam whereas lakhs of candidates are hoping for a re-examination.
