BENGALURU: The city police, who are investigating the alleged voter data theft, have detained one more person in connection with the case.

The arrested accused Sanjeev Shetty had developed the Digital Sameeksha app which the Chilume Educational Cultural and Rural Development Trust founder Ravikumar had disabled later. As a result, the police were unable to find out what was on the app. Now, with Shetty’s arrest, they hope to get access to the app and the details on the app.

Ravikumar has been absconding ever since an FIR was filed in the alleged voter data theft case. The police have formed a special team and launched a manhunt for him since Friday night who, they believe, is hiding somewhere around Bengaluru.

On Saturday, Ravikumar’s brother Kempe Gowda was traced to Sidlaghatta. Hence, the police believe that Ravikumar may be in hiding somewhere around Bengaluru and are keeping a close watch on his relatives, friends and associates.
