Visitors spot tigers in Bandipur during safari rides

Different groups of visitors spotted the tigers in Bandipur on Thursday.

CHAMARAJANAGAR: Groups of visitors to Bandipur tiger reserve were lucky to spot tigers at different locations during the safari tours on Thursday.

One group of tourists came across a tiger cooling off in a watering hole to beat the heat. The tiger was in the water for about an hour, giving several visitors a glimpse.

In another instance, some groups of visitors came across a tiger walking along the safari route. In a video, one of safari vehicles can be seen reversing for some distance till the tiger wanders off into the forest.

In an unrelated development, the Male Mahadeshwara Hills Development Authority has evicted shops being run illegally near the temple. All the items were kept outside and the shops locked.

The shops were evicted and belongings kept outside.

Seventeen vendors had occupied the shops illegally and were running their business for the last 7-8 years. The eviction drive was initiated by the authority secretary Raghu.
