CHAMARAJANAGAR, MYSURU: A group of devotees who were visiting the Biligiri Ranganathaswamy temple atop BR Hills were lucky to spot a tiger from the viewpoint beside the temple near the Anna Dasoha hall.
The tiger was seen resting on a huge rock in the valley, perhaps after a hunt, and videos of it have gone viral on social media. In one of the videos, a woman can be heard saying they were lucky to spot the tiger.
A few days ago, locals were heard talking about a tiger roaming in the region. In recent years, the tiger population at the BRT tiger reserve in Yelandur taluk has witnessed a marked increase.
Meanwhile, some motorists spotted a leopard near the Devi Kere on Chamundi Hills on the way to the Chamundi temple. The leopard was seen resting on a roadside parapet wall around 11 pm on Friday and moved into the forest after some time as the headlights of a car were focused on it.
