BENGALURU: Late actor Vishnuvardhan’s fans are planning to meet the Bengaluru Rural district Deputy Commissioner and submit a memorandum condemning the demolition of the actor’s memorial at Abhiman Studio in Kengeri and to seek allotment of land for a memorial.
They are also planning to request the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce to build a memorial for the actor at the Kanteerava Studios.
The fan association, Vishnu Sena, has been in talks with industry stalwarts like Kichcha Sudeep and Rockline Venkatesh, as well as Film Chamber officials, to discuss the issue. They have also planned to request Narasimhalu, president of the film chamber, and former president Bama Harish and submit a petition.
The association’s state president, Veerakaputra Srinivas, has stated that some fans were taken into custody by the police during a protest near Abhiman Studios, and FIRs were filed against some of them.
The fans had planned to celebrate Vishnuvardhan’s 75th birth anniversary, known as ‘Vishnudada Amrutha Mahotsava’, on September 18. However, the demolition of the memorial has sparked outrage among fans. If the court allows fans to celebrate birthdays at the actor’s memorial this time, they fans will gain more strength in their fight.
The fans have been celebrating Vishnuvardhan’s birth and death anniversaries at the Abhiman Studios for years.
