CHIKKAMAGALUR: Spiritual leader Vinay Guruji applied oil on the legs of devotees heading to Dharmastala by foot for Shivarathri celebrations, washed their feet and showered flower petals on them at Neerugundi in Mudigere taluk.
With Shivarathri being celebrated on March 8, many devotees are heading to Dharmastala by foot for darshan of the presiding deity Manjunatha Swamy. Vinay Guruji, who was accompanied by MLA Nayana Motamma, felicitated the devotees at an event organised by Samajika Seva Samithi.
Thousands of devotees are heading to Dharmastala and the Samithi has made arrangements for their food and overnight stay.
