KALABURAGI: A crocodile, which had entered a tank at Malla (B) village in Jewargi taluk from an overflowing river was captured by the villagers and handed over to the Forest Department officials.
Due to the incessant rain, several rivers are overflowing and the crocodile is suspected to have found its way to the tank along with the flowing water. The lake is close to the village and was spotted on Sunday night.
The villagers used an cloth to cover the crocodile’s eyes and then tied it up with the help of ropes. They then informed the Forest department staff who rushed to the village and rescued the reptile by releasing it safely in a river.
