RAMANAGARA: Residents of Yadamaranahalli in Kanakapura taluk have submitted a complaint to the Lokayukta alleging that Ramanagara Congress MLA Iqbal Hussain has got the entire village registered as his property.
In the complaint, the villagers said they have been cultivating the land for the last 150 years, but the MLA had got 67 acres and 66 guntas of land in the village registered in his name. They said the dispute is before the land tribunal, but that the MLA had used his influence to register the land in violation of the Land Reforms Act.
However, some residents of Hoganidoddi village disputed the claim stating that the properties purchasd by Iqbal Hussain do not belong to any tenant/lessee and that the MLA had, in fact, helped them get documents for the agricultural land and houses.
The residents of Honganidoddi also approached the Lokayukta police in Ramanagara claiming that the complaint against Iqbal Hussain was false and that he had not purchased the entire village, as allegd.
