VIJAYAPURA: An Indian Army soldier hailing from Tikota in the district, who was posted in Jammu and Kashmir, has been martyred in action. However, his family has so far no information about how he laid down his life.
Havildar Raju Karajagi was with the The Jammu and Kashmir Rifles 13th battalion and his family was informed about his martyrdom on Monday evening by the army authorities. However, the family was not informed how he died and when the mortal remains will be handed over to them.
The district administration too has no information regarding the soldier’s death. Meanwhile, a pall of gloom has descended on Tikota. Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar expressed his condolences on the martyrdom of the soldier in a post on X.
