Dr N S Mohan, Srinivas Prasad's second son-in-law, plans to contest the Lok Sabha election on a BJP ticket.

CHAMARAJANAGAR: With the Lok Sabha elections expected to be held sometime in April-May this year, BJP MP and senior leader V Srinivas Prasad’s second son-in-law Dr N S Mohan has quit the medical profession and is hopeful of contesting the upcoming polls on a BJP ticket.

Dr Mohan was working as a spine surgeon at Sanjay Gandhi hospital in Bengaluru and has been with the hospital for the last 15 years. He has now quit his high-profile job to try his luck in politics, raising questions whether the BJP high command has agreed to field him in the Lok Sabha polls.

On his part, Dr Mohan is confident that he will get the party ticket. “The senior party leaders have assured me giving me a ticket and ensuring my win”, he said and added that he is in touch with RSS functionaries too.

Srinivas Prasad has already announced retirement from electoral politics and had said that he will not campaign for anyone. Now, it remains to be seen if he will lobby for Dr Mohan. His older son-in-law Harshavardhan had previously represented Nanjangud in the Assembly.
