BENGALURU: Veteran Kannada film actor Mandeep Roy passed away at the age of 74 after suffering a cardiac arrest at a private hospital here early on Sunday. He was hospitalised after suffering a heart attack on December 5, 2022, and had been discharged after recovery.
Mandeep Roy, who had acted in more than 500 films, was also a theater artist and was well known for his supporting and comic roles. He acted alongside stalwarts from Dr Rajkumar to younger artists.
Mandeep was born in 1949 and entertained audiences for several decades. He made his debut in 1980 with ‘Minchina Ota’. He was a close associate of Anant Nag and Shankar Nag and entered the film industry with them and acted in many of their films.
He has acted in movies like ‘Beladingala Bale’, ‘Apta Rakshaka’, ‘Pushpaka Vimana’, ‘Minchina Ota’, ‘Benkiya Bale’, ‘Elu Suttina Kote’, ‘Aasegobba Meesegobba’, ‘Aunty Preetse’, ‘Preethsod Tappa’, ‘Sye’, ‘Trikona’ and ‘Kotigobba-2’.
