BENGALURU: Veteran Sandalwood actor Dinesh Mangaluru, known for his roles in films like ‘KGF’ and ‘Ulidavaru Kandanthe’, has passed away at his home in Kundapura. He was 66.

Dinesh had been undergoing treatment in a hospital for the past five days and died at 3.30 am on Monday due to a brain haemorrhage. He is survived by his wife, Bharathi D Pai and two sons, Pawan and Sajjan.
Dinesh just had been cast in a role for the prequel of the film ‘Kantara’. Despite struggling with health issues, he had managed to film his parts amidst immense pain. However, after suffering a stroke, he was hospitalised and was unable to continue acting. The film’s production team had to replace him with another actor.
Dinesh had recently returned home after receiving treatment in Bengaluru, but was readmitted to Koteswara Hospital due to further complications.
The actor’s mortal remains will be kept at his residence in Laggere for public viewing on Tuesday from 8 am. Dinesh was a supporting actor who had appeared in several films, including ‘Ricky’ and ‘KGF’, and will be remembered for his contributions to the Kannada film industry.
