Vehicle carrying election observers crashes into parked bus, two injured

KOPPAL: A vehicle carrying election observers crashed head-on into a Kalyana Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (KKRTC) bus parked by the roadside at Vidyanagar in Gangavathi taluk on Thursday night, after the driver lost control. The vehicle was badly crushed in the incident.

The jeep collided head-on into the bus which was parked by the roadside.

Shivanand, the driver of the jeep, which belonged to the Fisheries Department, sustained serious injuries while a police constable who was travelling in the vehicle escaped with minor injuries. The injured were shifted to the government hospital in Gangavathi.

On receiving information, Gangavathi tahsildar U Nagaraj rushed to the hospital and inquired about the condition of the injured. The Gangavathi Rural police have registered a case.
