BIDAR: Urdu poet and writer Tariq Farooq (78), who hails from Uttar Pradesh and had settled in Canada, died after suffering a heart attack at a hospital in Basavakalyan today morning.
Tariq Farooq had arrived in Basavakalyan to participate in a mushaira and poets’ meet organised by the technocrats and literature lovers’ association. Ahead of the mushaira, he complained of chest pain and was admitted to a hospital where he suffered a heart attack today morning.
The mortal remains were handed over to the family of the poet and was shifted to Aligarh in Uttar Pradesh.
