BARABANKI (Uttar Pradesh): The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited the flood-affected areas of Barabanki and Gonda in the state on Wednesday.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath assured the flood-affected victims of Barabanki and Gonda that the state government is present among the people during times of disaster, providing assistance and relief of all kinds
On inspecting the flood-affected areas of Gonda, UP CM Yogi Adityanath says, “I am here to assure you all that a double-engine government is working in the state. This government works for relief and awareness. In the state of a calamity, this government tries to benefit the affected without any discrimination.”
While conducting both aerial and on-ground surveys of the flood-affected areas and reviewing relief and rescue operations, UP CM Yogi Adityanath said, “Those who are living on embankments and in inland areas, if they wish to relocate to safer areas, arrangements will be made. If everyone is willing, the government will establish well-planned colonies for them.”
CM Yogi further met with flood-affected victims and distributed relief materials. He mentioned that for the areas where river erosion is taking place, the Irrigation Department has been instructed to ensure immediate and comprehensive arrangements.
Currently, 721 villages across 21 districts of the state are affected by floods
The Chief Minister instructed officials to ensure that a permanent solution for the floods is devised in the coming days.
The UP CM Yogi Adityanath says said, “The state government is also taking action to provide timely compensation to farmers whose crops have been destroyed due to the floods by conducting a survey to assess the extent of the damage.”
The Chief Minister inspected the flood-affected area established in Lalpur Karauta village under Suratganj block of Ramnagar tehsil in Barabanki and distributed relief material. During this visit, he engaged in discussions with the flood-affected people to understand the situation.
CM Yogi mentioned that those whose houses have been damaged due to floods will be provided with one house each under the Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana, and compensation will also be provided to partially damaged houses.
“This relief material will be made available every 15 days during the floods”, he said.
The Chief Minister informed that instructions have been given to provide assistance of Rs 4 lakh within 24 hours in case of any loss of life.
During the inspection in Barabanki, besides MP Upendra Singh Rawat, MLAs, MLCs, District Panchayat members, and BJP officials were also present.
CM Yogi reached the Gonda district and visited the flood-affected people in the Palhapur village of Colonelganj.
The Chief Minister informed that 8 battalions of NDRF, SDRF, and PAC flood units have been deployed in flood-affected areas. He mentioned that 23 villages in Gonda have been affected by floods this year. He said that while most of the villages have been relieved of waterlogging, some areas still have water accumulation.
Furthermore, the Chief Minister said, “The government is committed to providing relief and assistance to all without any discrimination. The double-engine government stands with the people during emergencies.” (ANI)
