MANDYA: An arden fan of Union minister H D Kumaraswamy, who had vowed to walk barefoot till the JD(S) leader becomes chief minister again, took his own life due to domestic issues Devegowdanadoddi village in Maddur taluk. On Monday, Kumaraswamy’s son and JD(S) youth wing leader Nikhil Kumaraswamy visited the family and offered condolences.
Mahadevu (31) was a devoted fan Kumaraswamy and had been walking barefoot for the past four years, praying for Kumaraswamy to become Chief Minister again. Mahadevu, who was unmarried, hanged himself from a tree in his village three days ago.
Speaking to the media after meeting Mahadevu’s family to offer condolences, Nikhil Kumaraswamy said, “Mahadevu was a true fan of Kumaraswamy. He had taken a vow not to wear shoes until Kumaraswamy becomes CM again. We’re shocked by his death, and I can’t understand why he took this extreme step. We’ll support his family financially and pray for his soul. Kumaraswamy is grieving, and we request everyone to respect his feelings.”
Nikhil Kumaraswamy also assured that the party would take care of Mahadevu’s family and provide them with necessary assistance.
