MANDYA: Two youngsters, who went out for a swim in a lake, died after drowing at Deshahalli village in Maddur taluk. The deceased are Somu (14) and Muthuraj (17) of Shankarapura village.
The duo, along with three other friends, had gone to the Madduramma lake at Deshahalli village for a swim on Sunday evening. However, as they did not know swimming, the two drowned and died.
The body of Muthuraj was fished out from the water on Sunday. The search and rescue operation for Somu resumed on Monday morning.
