VIJAYAPURA: A two-year-old child died after he fell into an open drainage pit on JM Road in Vijayapura City. The deceased has been identified as Yasin Saddam Mulla.
The family is now alleging negligence by the City corporation. A slab on the drain was removed a few days ago, due to heavy rain. After cleaning, the city corporation staff did not replace the slab, which led to the incident, the family alleged.
Locals and family members expressed outrage against the corporation. The incident occurred under the jurisdiction of the Gol Gumbaz police station.
