MYSURU: A two-wheeler thief, who stole 24 scooters in Mysuru with a single master key, has been arrested by the Devaraja police. The accused was identified as Azmathulla, a resident of Galipura in Chamarajanagar district.
Azmathullah has two wives and eight children. He would come to Mysuru every day by bus from Chamarajanagar, steal two-wheelers and escape. He was nabbed after he was caught on CCTV camera stealing a scooter from Sayyaji Rao Road in the city.
In CCTV footage, Azmathulla can be seen sitting on a scooter for a long time and when nobody came to take it away, he used his master key and stole the vehicle. According to the police, he had stolen 24 two-wheelers in a span on seven months, valued at Rs 13 lakh. He would sell the stolen scooter for anywhere between Rs 6,000 and Rs 7,000, police said.
