BENGALURU: Though the Namma Metro’s Yellow Line opened on August 10, passengers on this route couldn’t travel as smoothly as those on other routes due to the limited number of trains. The time gap between trains was 25 minutes, causing long waiting times and overcrowding.

Now the fourth train is set to hit the tracks from September 15 to reduce waiting time. BMRCL has confirmed that all preparations are under way, and with the addition of this train, the time gap between trains is expected to reduce to 15 minutes.

Yashwant Chavan, Chief Public Relations Officer, BMRCL, said another train set is likely to arrive in Bengaluru by the end of the month. The manufacturer, Titagarh Rail Systems Pvt Ltd, has expressed confidence in meeting the supply deadline. If everything goes as planned, a fifth train set may start operating by the second or third week of October, further reducing the waiting time between trains and benefiting passengers.

Overall, with the fourth train set to start operating from September 15 and a fifth train likely to follow in October, passengers can expect a more frequent and convenient Metro service.
