Two sisters riding two-wheeler killed after BBMP garbage truck runs over them in Bengaluru

BENGALURU: Two siblings were killed on the spot after a BBMP garbage truck ran over them on Thanisandra Main Road. The truck driver has been taken into custody by the Hebbal traffic police.

The deceased have been identified as Nazia Sultan and Nazia Irfan, residents of Govindapura. The women were riding a bike when the truck driver lost control and hit them. The bodies have been shifted to Yelahanka Government Hospital for post-mortem examination.

Police said that the two sisters riding a two-wheeler when they were hit by a BBMP garbage truck. The truck driver, Gadi Linga (32), has been arrested by Hebbal traffic police. The incident occurred when the sisters tried to overtake the truck from the left side. Both have four children.

The accident occurred when the sisters were going to a hospital in R K Hegede Nagar. The driver was subjected to a breathalyzer test and ws found not to be drunk. A case has been registered at the Hebbal traffic police station.
