BALLARI: Two members of a family died due to a lightning strike while grazing sheep in Raravi village of Siruguppa taluk in the district on Monday. A 14-year-old boy also seriously injured in the incident.
The deceased were identified as Bheerappa (45) and Sunil (26). The injured boy, Vinod, was admitted to VIMS hospital in Ballari for treatment.
According to sources, the three were grazing sheep when it started raining and they took shelter under a tree. The lightning strike killed Bheerappa and Sunil on the spot while Vinod was seriously injured.
The incident occurred within the jurisdiction of the Siruguppa police station.
