MANGALURU: The special investigation team (SIT) probing the alleged mass burial case in Dharmasthala on Saturday conducted exhumation at the ninth and tenth marked points amid pouring rain for the fifth day. However, nothing was found during the digging.
The SIT used a mini excavator for the digging and covered up both the spots near the Nethravathi bridge after nothing was found. The team wound up the exhumation exercise for the day after the post lunch session.
Officials said that the exhumation will be taken up on Monday and the SIT is likely to cover the remaining three marked spots on that day.
