BELAGAVI: The Market police have arrested two minors after a 20-year-old youth was stabbed in a bus following a dispute over occupying a window seat.
On Wednesday, one of the arrested minors, who is in conflict with the law, picked an argument with Maaz Abdul Rasheed Sanadi (20) over occupying the window seat in the Pant Balekundri bus at the central bus station. He then called his friend the to bus stand and the duo stabbed Sanadi and fled.
Police Commissioner Borase Bhusan Gulabrao said a case was immediately registered after the stabbing incident and two minors have been arrested within half an hour. “The two minors abused Sanadi in foul language, threatened him and stabbed him brutally”.
He said, “To prevent such incidents, we will for an anti-stabbing squad which will check suspicious people. We will check their person and belonging and we will register cases under the Arms Act if they are found to be carrying any lethal weapons. We will also open history sheets against such people. Do not play with the law”, he warned.
